Qashqai style hand made silk carpet
Kashkain is a nomadic tribe in Shiraz, southern Iran. People have lived in the high mountains south of Shiraz for generations. Although they are mountain nomads, their creativity should not be underestimated. Compared with the design patterns of traditional Persian carpets, Kashkain carpets usually use abstract animals and figures as the elements of the carpet surface, which is very eye-catching in design and quite ultra-modern artistic style.
The tribal carpets of the Kashgars can be said to be abstract art works of nomads. The artistic aesthetics of the Kashgars surpassed that of other ethnic groups in Iran. Their costumes are colorful, without the monotony of religion and politics. It is one of Iran's intangible cultural heritage.
The tribal blanket does not have a stylized design, and does not consider religious restrictions. Its abstract elements are the main feature, and the patterns are mainly small animals and figures. Different from the streamlined and central flower design of traditional Persian carpets, the central part is often arranged in squares, with abstract patterns embedded in it, and simple color matching, which is very suitable for modern home decoration.
